FOR OUR LAND

Short term:

  • Establish a tree nursery from seed

  • Map out our land using arcGIS

  • Conduct initial soil quality tests

  • Evaluate carbon stocks using above and below ground modeling

  • Plan for spring agroforestry planting 

  • Begin biochar production and research 

  • Introduce basalt as a soil amendment

  • Build raised beds for horticulture

Long term:

  • Model a replicable carbon-negative, financially-viable midwestern agroforestry system

  • Offset operational carbon-emissions through sequestration

  • Infuse Jewish land stewardship principles into our work

FOR OUR GROWTH

Short term:

  • Establish non-profit status or partner with a fiscal sponsor

  • Apply for grants to support our work in the short and long term

  • Build relationships with partner organizations 

  • Build lasting relationships with surrounding farms

  • Design an inclusive apprenticeship program that empowers folks underrepresented in sustainability spaces.

  • Post consistent educational content on our blog and social media platforms

Long term:

  • Produce, market, and sell carbon-negative compost

  • Distribute produce through farmers markets, CSAs, restaurants, and grocery stores
