Week 10, Spring 2022
Hi everyone!
This week on the farm felt like the first one in a long time where everyone in our cohort was finally back on the farm together.
We had our first radish harvest from the ones that we sowed, woohoo!! Gavriel added these radishes to lentil soup and salad he made us for lunch.
We have also been having a lot of asparagus from our gardens that were planted by JR. JR celebrated his 65th birthday this Friday, HAPPY BIRTHDAY JR!
It is nice to enjoy our radishes and asparagus, along with other beings growing on the farm that we planted and didn’t, including dandelions, mustard greens, parsley, cilantro, bean leafs, lettuces, SWEET SPINACH, ramps, wild mustard, nettle, motherwort, chickweed, and i’m sure others i’m forgetting.
We had delicious, gooey gluten free fudge brownies for shabbat that were gone way to quickly the next morning. Daniella is almost done with Braiding Sweet Grass by Robin Wall Kimmerer and only wishes that everyone in the world gets to read this book.
Maya also brought books by Ocean Young including “Time is a Mother” that folks have been throughly enjoying. Maya and Sarah have set up two hammocks one over another in front of the shed, that we, along with Nooch and Phoebe, have also been throughly enjoying; especially this super sunny Saturday. We all got a little burnt enjoying the beautiful sun rays after many cold and rainy days we have been experiencing recently.
Wishing everyone a happy new week!
