We love and got many seeds from TrueLove Seeds who sells seeds from small-scale urban and rural farmers committed to community food sovereignty, cultural preservation, and sustainable agriculture. Check them out by clicking here!

Monday: We weeded, planted snap peas in ATR, and throughly washed buckets for mushroom growing! We finally took our front stoop group photo before Maya leaves the farm for pesach!

Tuesday: Was a special last day before Sarah and Orly left for their surgery. We gathered in the living room to create a sacred space, facilitated by Orly, for planting our tobacco seeds. We thought about and wrote love-filled intentions for our tobacco seeds as we planted them together. We remember the indigenous people of the Great Lakes who have been respecting and keeping tobacco sacred for generations and generations on turtle island. Daniella made some Zucchini bread with chocolate chips which we ate with refreshing nettle tea Sarah made. We then had poetry time with Maya were we wrote prompted and unprompted poetry and then shared our art with each other. <3

Wednesday: we said goodbye to cohort members Sarah and Orly who drove back to Michigan for their spine surgery! We heard good news that all went smoothly!

Thursday: Maya and Matt made focaccia for dinner! Super yum. Isabelle and Gavriel made a lovely pinto bean soup and a hearty tomato sauce to go with the focaccia. A1 meal. 10/10

Friday: We transplanted our tomato seedling into bigger soil blocks, woah! JR showed us how to bend metal polls to make hoops for ATR bed cover. Maya made and braided beautiful challah bread and daniella made cookie for shabbat. Shabbat Shalom!

Love,

your ZA family here at the farm <3
